Dirt Flight, instant aerial imagery
Aerial 3D view of a rural Vermont land parcel with the boundary outlined

Aerial photos of land in Vermont.

Send a Vermont APN and the county it sits in. Dirt Flight builds the boundary from that county's own parcel records and renders the full aerial pack in about ten minutes. A woodlot in Essex County and a hillside parcel in Windsor County come back the same way, in the same ten minutes.

The short answer
Updated August 2026

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service. To get aerial photos of a Vermont parcel, enter the county and the APN. The boundary is drawn from the statewide cadastral layer and the pack renders in about ten minutes: an outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, an 18 second orbit video and a contour map. Nobody flies out, so there is no travel charge, and all 14 counties render.

Why Vermont is different

Hillside, sugarbush and old stone wall.

Vermont parcels are sloped and wooded, and what a buyer wants to know is where the flat is, whether there is a view, what the sugarbush looks like, and how the road reaches the lot. From the town road you see a bank and a culvert.

The statewide cadastral layer is what the boundary is drawn from, so coverage here is complete rather than partial. A woodlot in Essex County renders in the same ten minutes as a parcel in Chittenden County, and sugarbush, old field and stone walls read clearly from above.

Boundaries are approximate, from public parcel data, and are not a survey.

These are the ones land buyers ask for most, each with its own page.

Do not see your county? Every one of the 14 renders. Send the APN and it comes back the same ten minutes.

Vermont questions

Asked by people selling Vermont ground.

Which Vermont counties can you do?

Send the county and the APN and we go straight to that county's own parcel records. Coverage varies: some states publish one statewide layer, others leave it county by county. If yours is one where the records are not public, you hear it from us before anything is charged.

How much does a drone photographer cost for a rural Vermont listing?

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service, so this is not our fee. A Vermont pilot quotes a minimum plus the drive, and one hillside lot rarely covers it. Dirt Flight renders the parcel from licensed aerial imagery and public elevation data instead of sending anyone up in the air, so there is no travel charge, no scheduling and no weather day.

Will slope and a possible house site show up?

The contour map shows the slope honestly and the imagery shows the flat benches and old fields, which together is how buyers judge whether a site exists. Whether it can be permitted is a town and state matter.

Can you show the sugarbush and old field?

Broadly, yes. Maple stands, softwood, old pasture growing in and cleared field all read differently from above, and the boundary shows which is inside your line. It is not a tap count.

How recent is the imagery on a Vermont parcel?

Expect one to three years, and check the date stamped on the pack. A cut from last winter or a field brush hogged this summer will not appear until the next flight. The elevation data behind the contour map runs on its own refresh cycle.

What exactly comes back for a Vermont APN?

One outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, one 18 second orbit video, a contour map, a context map and a parcel info sheet. Step up to Paydirt for road frontage views, infrared, a social kit and the full resolution files. Vermont buyers look at the contour map for the flat and the view.

Got a Vermont parcel under contract?

Send the county and the APN. If your invite is not open yet we will still look at the first one by hand.
