Dirt Flight, instant aerial imagery
Aerial 3D view of a rural Connecticut land parcel with the boundary outlined

Aerial photos of land in Connecticut.

Send a Connecticut APN and the county it sits in. Dirt Flight builds the boundary from that county's own parcel records and renders the full aerial pack in about ten minutes. Nobody sends a pilot for a back lot in Litchfield County. No travel charge on eleven acres behind a stone wall.

The short answer
Updated August 2026

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service. To get aerial photos of a Connecticut parcel, enter the county and the APN. The boundary is drawn from township and county parcel data and the pack renders in about ten minutes: an outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, an 18 second orbit video and a contour map that shows the ledge and the wet ground. Nobody flies out, so there is no travel charge, and all 8 counties render.

Why Connecticut is different

The parcels are small and the woods are thick.

Connecticut land moves in ten and twenty acre pieces, usually wooded, often sitting behind older subdivisions, frequently split by wetland or ledge. From the road a buyer sees trees. What they need is where the wet ground sits, where the ledge outcrops and whether there is a way in.

Township and county parcel data is what the boundary is drawn from, so coverage here is complete rather than partial. Contours show the ledge and the drop to the brook, and the outlined top down shows how the lot sits against the neighbors, which is most of the conversation on small New England parcels.

Boundaries are approximate, from public parcel data, and are not a survey.

Where Connecticut land actually trades.

These are the ones land buyers ask for most, each with its own page.

Do not see your county? Every one of the 8 renders. Send the APN and it comes back the same ten minutes.

Connecticut questions

Asked by people selling Connecticut ground.

Which Connecticut counties can you do?

Send the county and the APN and we go straight to that county's own parcel records. Coverage varies: some states publish one statewide layer, others leave it county by county. If yours is one where the records are not public, you hear it from us before anything is charged.

How much does a drone photographer cost for a rural Connecticut listing?

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service, so this is not our fee. A pilot here quotes a shoot fee that is hard to justify on an eleven acre wooded lot, and half the tract is under canopy anyway. Dirt Flight renders the parcel from licensed aerial imagery and public elevation data instead of sending anyone up in the air, so there is no travel charge, no scheduling and no weather day.

Can you show wetland and ledge on a wooded lot?

Wet ground, brook lines and open ledge read from above, and the contour map shows the pitch and the low spots. Canopy hides some detail, which is exactly why contours are in the base pack rather than an upgrade.

Will it show whether a back lot has frontage?

The boundary is drawn against the road and the adjoining parcels, so where frontage exists it is visible, and where the lot sits behind others that is visible too. Legal access is a title question rather than an imagery one.

How recent is the imagery on a Connecticut parcel?

Most Connecticut counties are flown on a one to three year cycle, and the render date is stamped on the pack. A new clearing or a stone wall pushed out last fall will not show until the next flight. Elevation data behind the contour map is refreshed on its own schedule.

What exactly comes back for a Connecticut APN?

The pack is an outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, an 18 second orbit video, a contour map, a context map and a parcel info sheet. Paydirt also brings road frontage views, infrared, a social kit and the full resolution files. On small Connecticut lots the outlined top down is the listing.

Got a Connecticut parcel under contract?

Send the county and the APN. If your invite is not open yet we will still look at the first one by hand.
