Dirt Flight, instant aerial imagery
Aerial 3D view of a rural Alabama land parcel with the boundary outlined

Aerial photos of land in Alabama.

Send an Alabama APN and the county it sits in. Dirt Flight builds the boundary from that county's own parcel records and renders the full aerial pack in about ten minutes. Nobody drives to Choctaw County to shoot forty acres of pine. No travel charge on a timber tract at the end of a logging road.

The short answer
Updated August 2026

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service. To get aerial photos of an Alabama parcel, enter the county and the APN. The boundary is drawn from county GIS parcel data and the pack renders in about ten minutes: an outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, an 18 second orbit video and a contour map that reads through the pine canopy. Nobody flies out, so there is no travel charge, and Jackson County renders today.

Why Alabama is different

Most of it is timber, and timber hides the ground.

Alabama land sells as planted pine, cutover and hardwood bottom, and all three photograph as one unbroken green mat from above. What a buyer wants to know is stand age, whether it has been thinned, where the drains and food plots sit, and whether the loading deck is still usable.

County GIS parcel data is what the boundary is drawn from, so coverage here is complete rather than partial. The four 3D views and the contour map are what separate ridge pine from creek bottom, which is the line between a hunting tract and a homesite.

Boundaries are approximate, from public parcel data, and are not a survey.

Rendered in Alabama

One APN. Everything below.

One parcel, one APN, everything below. Cumberland Plateau ground in Jackson County. Crop and pasture in the west running up into a hardwood block on the mountain, 582 feet of relief across 350 acres, and better than a mile of road frontage.

Where Alabama land actually trades.

These are the ones land buyers ask for most, each with its own page.

Do not see your county? Every one of the 67 renders. Send the APN and it comes back the same ten minutes.

Alabama questions

Asked by people selling Alabama ground.

Which Alabama counties can you do?

Send the county and the APN and we go straight to that county's own parcel records. Coverage varies: some states publish one statewide layer, others leave it county by county. If yours is one where the records are not public, you hear it from us before anything is charged.

How much does a drone photographer cost for a rural Alabama listing?

Dirt Flight is not a drone photography service, so this is not our fee. In rural Alabama a pilot quotes the shoot plus the drive, and a tract in Choctaw or Wilcox County is a couple of hours from anyone who owns a drone. Dirt Flight renders the parcel from licensed aerial imagery and public elevation data instead of sending anyone up in the air, so there is no travel charge, no scheduling and no weather day.

Will planted pine and cutover read differently on the imagery?

They do. Row structure in a planted stand, the raw ground of a recent cut and the rounded crowns of hardwood bottom are all visible from above, and the orbit video gives a sense of stand height that a flat photo flattens out. It is not a timber cruise and we would not sell it as one.

Can you show the creek, the food plots and the road in?

Yes. Drains and creek bottoms, open plots and the point where the county or logging road meets the line all read in the imagery, and the access view marks the frontage.

How recent is the imagery on an Alabama parcel?

Most Alabama counties are flown on a one to three year cycle, and the render date is stamped on the pack. A thinning cut or a new food plot from this spring will not appear until the next flight. Elevation data behind the contour map is refreshed on its own schedule.

What exactly comes back for an Alabama APN?

The pack is an outlined top down, four cardinal 3D views, an 18 second orbit video, a contour map, a context map and a parcel info sheet. Paydirt also brings road frontage views, infrared, a social kit and the full resolution files. Alabama sellers lean on the top down for the timber split and the orbit for the listing.

Got an Alabama parcel under contract?

Send the county and the APN. If your invite is not open yet we will still look at the first one by hand.
